Integrated system
The mezzanine is sized to carry Steelaxy partitions on the upper level. One construction vocabulary, on the ground floor and above.
When a mezzanine makes sense
Height is the first filter: the more clear height, the likelier a second floor makes sense. The study confirms it with the floor plan and the building.
Other points weigh on the decision, and they are easier to handle early, before the design is closed:
- Existing structure: spans and supports decide where the mezzanine can sit.
- Access: moving people and goods up and down has to fit the floor and the design.
- Electrical installation: electrical integration is planned from the study.
- Regulation: it depends on the building, the use and the country.
Leaving access or regulation until the end is an easy mistake to avoid: if they enter the study on day one, the second-floor design is adjusted to the building from the start.
